Change of Venue Leads to Surprise Showcase of New Keller Williams and Desert Land Group Offices

Lake Havasu is not renowned for its mild summers, but when Mychal Gorden, CEO of Desert Land Group invited the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce to Riviera Lake Havasu he was not anticipating record temperatures of over 120 degrees.

The event – the Chamber’s June mixer – was planned as an opportunity for Chamber members to enjoy a close look at the progress made at the prestigious residential development, in particular at the Riviera’s neighborhoods: Marina View, Wren Cove and The Ridge, and the new Havasu Riviera State Park and Marina.

Tents and swamp coolers were on standby, but as the mercury soared to unprecedented levels, it was clear that an outdoor event was out of the question. “Those swamp coolers are not going to do the trick,” admitted Gorden.

Presented with lemons, Gorden turned to Vicky Runyon, Owner and Operator of Keller Williams Arizona Living Realty to help him make lemonade. They agreed that the perfect Plan B was to welcome guests to Keller Williams’ new state-of-the-art offices.

The building, situated in Park Avenue, just off Highway 95, is the vision of Vicky and was brought to life by Desert Land Group who constructed the class-A building. The premises boast two floors, an array of different spaces including offices, communal areas, meeting and training rooms, and magnificent lake views.

Despite the last-minute change of plan, there was a great turnout by the Chamber’s members and public who joined the mixer. Guests were invited to tour the beautifully decorated building which is home, not only to the growing Keller Williams (KW) Arizona Living Realty family, including KW Commercial, KW Arizona Living Rentals and Property Management and KW Arizona Living School of Real Estate, but also to Desert Land Group’s Residential Team and Commercial Division.

In addition, invitees were given an update on the progress of Riviera by Gorden.

“Our stakeholders are absolutely crucial to a project of this magnitude. Riviera Lake Havasu is a milestone in the history of the city. It will see the first new Arizona State Park on the Colorado River in over 20 years, new environmental and educational spaces, a new mainland Marina, and a myriad of new amenities, investments and opportunities.

It’s key that as we head towards this milestone, we do so with the input and blessing of the Lake Havasu Community.”

He also promised guests a closer look at the development as soon as the temperatures drop. “We will do the Chamber event at Riviera as soon as possible – probably early this fall.”

With construction steaming along, guests can expect significant progress to have been made the next time they are invited to Riviera, and without the 120-degree backdrop, it’s sure to be another highly enjoyable occasion.
